Another area that is great for getting outdoors and enjoying nature is Lakeway City Park. It is located off the shores of Lake Travis near the Serene Hills community. With two miles of trails, there is plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors and have a peaceful afternoon. 

Across the 64 acres in this park are features and wonderful amenities such as a pavilion to rent and host a bbq or birthday party, a butterfly garden center and wildflower meadow, a bark-park play area and hike and bike trails. This park can also be accessed by water from Hurst Creek Cove on Lake Travis for those who enjoy boating. Enjoy several different water activities as well, such as swimming, fishing and kayaking. 

Hamilton Greenbelt Trails

If you want to venture out a little more, the Hamilton Greenbelt trails are a sight to be seen. The Greenbelt is a 5.1 mile out and back trail, offering beautiful views and hikes for any skill level. Spend an afternoon in the spring in the greenbelt hiking, walking or bird watching in the greenbelt and make lasting memories. 

The Canyonlands

The Canyonlands is another popular destination for outdoor activity and hiking in Lakeway. It is the city’s most extensive area of trails, and is located on 20-acres at Rough Hollow Cove off of Lake Travis. There is a beautiful canyon running through the park for which it is named, allowing for gorgeous scenic overlooks and a perfect look out for changing leaves in late fall. Hiking and mountain biking is very popular at The Canyonlands, and during wet months a tumbling waterfall is created in the Canyon and is a sight to be seen.
